Program Policies

Program Policies
To get the most out of violin study, families should make the commitment to consistent lesson attendance. We make every effort to schedule lessons that are convenient for families and productive for students. Productive lessons occur during optimum learning times.

LESSON MAKEUP POLICY

Illness and Inclement Weather
There will be no make up lessons for lessons missed due to illness or winter weather conditions. In the event of extended illness or injury we will make reasonable arrangements on a case by case basis.

Please do not come to lessons sick. One sick student can spread germs to other students, parents and the teacher.

If your teacher cancels a lesson due to illness, we regret that no make up lesson can be offered. If an extended illness occurs we will make arrangements for a credit or refund.

Schedule Conflicts
We will make every effort to reschedule lessons if given at least 48 hours notice, though this may not be possible in many cases due to our full teaching schedules. We will not extend our teaching hours to offer make up lessons.  If we must reschedule a lesson because of our schedule conflict we will let you know well in advance. If no alternative lesson time can be found within a two week period the lesson will be forfeited.

One avenue available for changing lesson times is lesson-swapping. Each semester a studio roster with lesson times and phone numbers will be distributed. If your family knows of schedule conflicts in advance you may swap lesson times with another student and notify your teacher of the change.

Group Lesson Attendance Policy
Attendance at groups lessons is essential to the Suzuki experience. Absences for illness or family emergency will be excused. Six unexcused absences will be allowed each semester. We will not be able to continue teaching students who do not meet this minimum attendance requirement.

SFTE Inc, (dba Santa Fe Talent Education) does not discriminate against applicants or students on the basis of race, color, or national or ethnic origin.
